The KISSmetrics Story

What are you measuring and how does it help your business grow?

This is the question we wanted to help our customers answer when we started KISSmetrics. It all began many years ago, when we were running an internet marketing consultancy and witnessed numerous clients struggling to find meaning in the data they obtained from their website analytics.

So we decided to change that.

Building a product to learn

In 2008, we set out to build an analytics solution that helped businesses measure what mattered. We started this process by learning and understanding their needs, and then iterating versions of our product based on their feedback. The end result? A robust analytics solution that provides actionable insights, yet is incredibly easy for every member of your team to use.

Serving the “vast middle”

Three years and thousands of customers later, we’ve learned a ton about how KISSmetrics customers think, and have built a powerful solution based on what people really want and need from an analytics tool. Naturally, it’s an on-going process. We’re proud our product is serving what we call “the vast middle”—a vast quantity of businesses that need more than a one-size-fits-all analytics solution, but aren’t interested in spending a lot of time or money getting started.
